Our farmers use only locally sourced, environmentally produced feed for their cattle. In addition to giving our Irish beef its distinct flavour and texture, grass fed beef offers a wealth of health benefits.

  • Higher in beta-carotene
  • Higher in Vitamin E
  • Higher in B vitamins and riboflavin
  • Higher in calcium, magnesium and potassium
  • Healthier ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 fats
  • Higher in total Omega 3s
  • Higher in conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) which have potent cancerfighting qualities
  • Higher in Vaccenic Acid which is converted by the body into CLA
  • Lower in saturated fats linked with heart disease

To produce our very best healthy beef, all John Stone cattle are 100% free from growth or appetite promoting hormones. This is not only for moral, ethical and quality purposes but also because the use of such methods carries a risk that the animals could develop antibiotic resistant bacteria. Strict health records and animal passports are kept for each animal.
